From generation to generation, one thing has stayed the same…You can count on Lezzer Lumber to provide you with quality products and outstanding service, all at a competitive price.
Lezzer Lumber has been a leading retailer of name brand building materials serving Pennsylvania since 1927.
Lezzer Lumber was founded in 1927 as the Sandri-Lezzer Lumber and Farm Machinery Company in Curwensville. In 1949 Michael H. Lezzer and his sons, Maurice and Kenneth, bought the lumber portion of the business and called it Lezzer Lumber Company.
The office and warehouse were originally located on State Street in Curwensville, Pennsylvania. The company remained at that site until a devastating fire in 1971 forced Lezzers to move to their present site on Schofield Street. It was then that Lezzer began to evolve from a traditional lumber yard to a home center. The company continued to grow with the DuBois store opening in 1972, Indiana in 1977, Butler in 1980, Muncy in 1983, State College in 1984. The manufacturing division of Lezzer evolved with Lezzer Commercial Doors opening in 1996 and Lezzer Truss Systems in 1999. In 2000, Lezzer started an installation service, Lezzer Pro-Installations and most recently, May 2002, acquired Dynamic Energy Services which installs cellulose insulation. In 2004, Lezzer Lumber, Inc. opened a Building Materials Center in Harrisburg, PA. In May, 2007 Lezzer Lumber purchased the J.H. Brubaker Lumber Company bringing the store total to 9. The addition of the Brubaker stores now services Lancaster & Manheim, PA.
