Gateway Humane Society

The Gateway Humane Society is the only public, non-profit, no-kill animal rescue shelter in the local area, not breed specific, for cats and dogs. Their main goal is to find homes for stray or surrendered animals, no matter how long it takes.In 2006 a modern shelter was built with two dog run areas that can house up to thirty-two dogs and two cat rooms that can house a minimum of twelve cats at a time. On July 14, 2008 the doors opened to the public, sheltering pets and strays until a new home can be found.

The Gateway Humane Society takes pride that they have and will always maintain a high standing in the local community and in the state of Pennsylvania. The people at the shelter make sure that the animals receive the best care available. The shelter relies solely on donations; public, private and business, of any size. Whether it be a single item or a monetary gift, all donations are highly appreciated and used to care for the animals housed in our shelter.
